As an army brat, I traveled a lot, and was exposed to a variety of people and cultures. That instilled in me a love of what is unique and different, as well as a recognition of the common thread of things.
Beaders are frequently asked what inspires them. I find everything is grist for the mill. I do mean everything. I have been inspired by high karat gold pieces, and photos of sea and space. I was recently about to empty a waste basket and was struck by the intriguing curves the plastic liner was making. I immediately made sketches in my idea journal for a future project.
I began playing with beads in the 80's when I was designing and making costumes. It was not until 2000 that I went from playing with beads to being obsessed by them. I do not possess two dimensional skills, but beads are my artist's pallette.
Here's to Life and Inspiration!
